A Friend of mine asked me: “How would I be able to remodel my kitchen on a shoestring budget?” So, here are my do’s and don’ts of remodeling on a shoestring budget:
-Invest your money on quality products that will last you the life of your kitchen.
– Make sure you are installing products in the right order.
I.E.: Don’t put in a new backsplash or countertop if you are not sure you want to keep your cabinetry more than 2-3 more years.
-look at the high-end brands to get ideas then find the “look alike” option. You pay a lot of money for brand names.
– Don’t go with the lowest price or bid. (Many times they are low for a reason)
-Think you have to do it all at once. Breaking your project up into stages will help you save money.
– Get over your head on DIY projects. That faux painted cabinetry looks much easier on YouTube than in real life.
